Current Projects and Experiments

Drawing I started a while ago but finally finished. I have no idea what it is about, but it means something to my subconscious. I'll figure it out one day.

I guess I'm worried about time.

I've come down with a nasty cold.  Wasn't able to go out like I planned, so painted as my artist date instead.  I'm visiting familiar territory trying to get my confidence up.  I wasn't happy with either one I did today.

I have been avoiding painting.  Excuses excuses excuses.  Well, I bought a plastic shower liner and laid it on my apartment floor to eliminate the excuse of "but what if I spill something?".  Having completed that this is the first thing I attempted.  Trying to use ink before it dries up.

These are some airbrush freehand sketches I did at the haunt with the dregs of the makeup paint.  It satisfied a creative urge, and I hung them up on the wall (they are large sheets).  I'm not exactly sure which day I did these.  I'm so tired it all runs together as of late.  Snapped some pictures when I last remembered to bring my camera.

10/17/05 Trying to figure out how to use photoshop. I wanted a better splash image for a myspace page I'm starting, and thought this would be a good creative challenge. The picture on the left is a plastic skull someone gave me...and the white background is the good ol' bathroom counter. The picture on the right is after I goofed off with photoshop. I know it's not a very original design, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out considering what I was working with.

10/11/05 This was an interesting experiment. My brother and his family gave me a bunch of "Crayola Model Magic" for my birthday. This is the weirdest stuff....the texture is a lot like the inside of a marshmallow. Very spongy and foamy and soft, compacts, and sticks to itself and not you. It is the oddest material I've worked with and was challenging. I'm satified with the result considering this was my first stab at it. I made a "hag" to hang on the door for Halloween. I have not determined how to paint it yet. It is still a little soft and spongy after it dries (about 24 hours). Again. Weird stuff.
